Foal Papers

I'm just another self-confessed brony. I don't have much real content of my own to post (aside from the occasional LOL or Demotivational, which I'm not sure counts), but I'll be liking and reblogging MLP:FiM material that suits my fancy so that I can both keep track of it and applaud its creators. So, if your tastes happen to align with mine, by all means feel welcome to follow me. :)

a message to @applejays

(In the event my scrawl is illegible, and in response to this tweet):

My dear Jay,

I address you thus – as “dear” – for the simple reason that, to myself and to countless others, you are precisely that: a dear and cherished friend. Though I would not presume to speak on their behalf, please know that I do not in the slightest feel I’m owed any explanation for your quietness of late; nor have your tweets seemed to me remotely childish. Please know also that I am truly sorry to hear that you have been suffering in silence, but that this need not be so.

The challenges presented you are ones which only you can meet, but my confidence that you will rise to overcome them is unshakeable. You have a resilience and a strength of character that are abundantly clear even across the limited medium that permits our conversations. And here I will presume to speak for others, certain as I am that I share their views: though it is indeed through a limited medium and in a limited fashion, we will always be here for you. You need put on no brave face to be welcome, nor ever fear our judgement; whether at your best or at your worst, we would have you as you are, for we very much like who you are.

I hope earnestly that I have not been among those whose strong and strongly-voiced opinions have left you feeling alienated this last while; driving you away could not be further from my wishes, and I pray that you’ll never feel made to disappear. But whether you are active here or not in the coming months, you will always be at the heart of this, our slice of an amazing community, a slice which bears the name you yourself coined. You will always have friends here who care about you, and who will always support you. And you will never be forgotten.

Take care, Jay. This too shall pass, and your best days yet lie ahead.
